Network Architect – Linux & XDP Dataplane

About Netris

Netris is the leading network automation platform for AI clouds. AI is the largest infrastructure buildout in history, and networking is its bottleneck. Netris is the automation and multi-tenancy layer for AI cloud networking, enabling operators to launch GPU clouds in weeks, provision tenants instantly, and maximize GPU utilization. The company experienced 800% ARR growth in the last 12 months, with 60+ live GPU cluster deployments globally and growing, and is backed by Andreessen Horowitz. SDN reinvented data center networking, and Netris is doing it for the AI cloud with NAAM: Network Automation, Abstraction, and Multi-Tenancy.

The role

Netris is looking for an experienced Network Architect to design, troubleshoot, and evolve high-performance Linux-based networking solutions, including XDP/eBPF dataplanes, virtual routers, and network gateways (Softgate).

You will work closely with software engineering teams to define technical requirements, develop architecture specifications, review implementations, and troubleshoot complex networking issues.

What you’ll do

  • Design and maintain Linux-based networking and packet-forwarding architectures.
  • Define high-level designs (HLDs), technical specifications, and acceptance criteria for software developers.
  • Troubleshoot complex dataplane, routing, and network performance issues.
  • Design and optimize XDP/eBPF-based packet processing and forwarding.
  • Architect multi-tenant virtual routing, NAT, load balancing, and gateway services.
  • Collaborate with developers on feature design, implementation reviews, and testing.

What we’re looking for

  • Strong understanding of TCP/IP, routing, switching, and packet forwarding.
  • Deep knowledge of Linux networking: VRFs, namespaces, bridges, VXLAN, policy routing, netfilter/nftables, conntrack, and NAT.
  • Experience with BGP, EVPN-VXLAN, and FRRouting (FRR).
  • Understanding of Linux kernel packet processing, NIC queues, RSS, interrupts, and network performance troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with XDP/eBPF architecture and packet-forwarding mechanisms.
  • Ability to translate networking requirements into clear technical specifications.
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred qualifications

  • Hands-on experience with XDP/eBPF development, C programming, or Linux kernel networking.
  • Experience with DPDK, AF_XDP, IPVS, or high-performance load balancing.
  • Experience with SmartNICs, DPUs, and high-speed NVIDIA ConnectX NICs.
  • Background in cloud networking, SDN, or virtual network appliances.

Compensation, benefits, logistics

  • Competitive salary +  meaningful equity
  • Full time
