The role
You will report to the Fractional Head of Legal work closely with our Head of Business Operations. This role will have direct visibility into the strategic deals driving the company’s growth. You will design the systems, select the tools, build the playbooks, and serve as the first line on commercial agreements while working in close partnership with experienced legal counsel on complex or non-standard matters. This role is for someone who wants to build the contracts function, not just administer it.
What you’ll do
Commercial Agreements & Negotiation
- Negotiate and draft software license agreements and related GTM agreements with enterprise customers; review and redline inbound customer paper and edits to Netris’ standard agreements
- Negotiate and manage channel partner agreements, authorized reseller, and distribution agreements with major technology distributors and value-added resellers
- Draft and negotiate vendor agreements, procurement contracts, and service agreements
- Coordinate with outside counsel on escalated matters, non-standard positions, and complex legal issues — exercising sound judgment on when to escalate versus resolve independently
Legal Operations & Technology
- Implement and own Netris’ contract management infrastructure, including CLM system selection, implementation, and ongoing administration
- Lead the adoption and integration of AI-powered legal technology methods and tools to improve contracting speed, quality, and scalability; this is a core function of the this role
- Build and maintain contract playbooks, fallback positions, and standard form libraries in collaboration with outside counsel
- Design and own the contracts intake, routing, and approval workflow
- Track contract status, renewal dates, and key obligations as well as provide regular reporting to leadership
Cross-Functional Partnership
- Partner with Sales and Partner teams on deal support, including contracting processes with channel partners
- Support onboarding and contract administration for the reseller and distributor ecosystem
- Collaborate with Finance on payment terms, invoicing provisions, and contract compliance
- Train and enable internal stakeholders on contracting processes, standard positions, and escalation paths
What we’re looking for
- Five-plus years experience negotiating and drafting commercial agreements in the enterprise software or technology industry; specifically, including software license agreements, GTM agreements, channel partner, reseller, distribution agreements and vendor agreements
- Hands-on experience implementing and operating AI-powered legal workflows, evaluating and deploying AI legal tools
- Legal operations experience: CLM implementation or administration, playbook development, workflow design, and contract process improvement
- Track record operating in a high-volume, high-velocity deal environment with competing priorities and tight timelines
- Strong judgment on when to resolve independently versus escalating to legal counsel and the confidence to act on independent judgments with conviction.

- Urgency: work at fast-growing company speed; the Netris legal team operates according to a strong sense of urgency; Netris legal operates against SLAs and committed turnaround times. In this role speed is critical.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred qualifications
- Experience in enterprise networking, infrastructure software, cloud infrastructure, or adjacent sectors
- Prior experience as the first or only contracts professional at a growth-stage technology company
- Experience supporting a channel partner ecosystem (resellers, distributors, VARs) including deal registration, margin management, and certification requirements
- Familiarity with CRM platforms (e.g., HubSpot) understanding how contracts intersect with pipeline and deal management
Compensation, benefits, logistics
- Compensation range for this role is $130K-$200k depending on qualification and experience
