The company, Netris, brings cloud-like network automation and VPC abstraction to the rest of the world, to GPU and CPU cloud builders and operators. We are working with some of the best infrastructure companies globally, building private and public cloud networks. Our customers use our network automation and abstraction software to launch their own cloud platforms for AI training and Inference, Alternative and Sovereign public cloud offerings, Enterprise Cloud, SaaS services, essential and telecommunication services, and other mission-critical platforms. 

Our solutions architects design customer solutions hands-on, using our lab environments and by working with partners such as Nvidia, Dell, Equinix, and others. In addition to designing solutions, our solutions architects help our customers implement them into production through collaboration, POCs, and design docs. Solutions Architects also participate in the product development lifecycle by providing pre/post-sales customer feedback to improve user experience, shape the use cases, and develop reusable solutions. 

The ideal candidate should have a range of experience: 20% sales or solutions engineer, 40% network engineer, and 40% system engineering and DevOps. In short, we’re looking for someone who can talk to customers, has hands-on network engineering experience, and isn’t afraid to automate things.

The ideal candidate will report to and partner with co-founders and senior leadership to learn and improve Netris’ solutions architecture practice and customer success programs.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

Solutions Engineering

  • Participate in sales calls and live demos with prospective and existing customers.
  • Suggest tailored solutions using our technology to meet the technical and business goals of the customer.
  • Setting up POC and prototyping solutions in our labs or customer environments.
  • Recommend production-ready solutions that can be implemented either by the customer or the implementation team.

 

Network Engineering

  • Helping customers design networks, topology, BOM (bill of materials), and cost management. 
  • Designing application-specific networks such as networks optimized for AI training, inference, hybrid cloud, virtualization, and cloud native technologies such as containers and Kubernetes.
  • Designing highly available, multi-region, and multi-tenant networks.
  • Integrating with various Networking technologies.
  • Troubleshooting and support during pre/post-sales period.

 

Product Improvement

  • Working closely with engineering and product teams to advocate for customers during the new feature design and development process.
  • Help prioritize feature backlog based on technical deal-blockers.
  • Document best practices and technical solutions.

 

Technical Skills Needed

 

The ideal candidate will be proficient in multiple skill sets below and willing to fill in their gaps. The ideal candidate shall be willing to work in DevOps environments using tools such as Terraform and various scripting languages

 

Linux & Virtual Networking Skills

  • Excellent skills in Linux networking, including configuration, management, and troubleshooting using tools such as Iptables, tcpdump, iperf, and others.
  • Nginx and others.
  • Comfortable configuring BGP underlays and overlays with FRR.
  • Understanding of container and Kubernetes networking.
  • Vmware VSphere & NSX networking.
  • KVM-based: OpenStack, Apache Cloud Stack, Proxmox, Harvester networking.

 

Linux Skills

  • Proficiency with installing, upgrading, and maintaining Linux servers (Ubuntu, RedHat).
  • System Administration.
  • Troubleshooting, log analysis, resource management.

 

Network Engineering and Architecture

  • Ability to design, implement, and support BGP/EVPN and VXLAN based switch network fabrics.
  • Prior experience working with maintaining BGP peering with Upstreams, IXPs, and intra-datacenter.
  • Experience with hardware firewalls (Juniper SRX, Cisco ASA) and Load balancers (F5).
  • Expertise in designing and implementing complex network systems.
  • Strong understanding of network protocols, routing, and switching.

 

Qualifications

 

The ideal candidate shall have both

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience as a Network or System Engineer
  • 2+ years of experience as a Sales or Solutions Engineer 

Desired but not required qualifications

  • Background in Computer Science 
  • CCIE (Routing & Switching) 
  • RHCE or equivalent
